In winter it is a quiet place to live, but in summer it is full of freshness to celebrate amazing local festivities. So, local people wait this season enthusiastically, because we celebrate ‘verbenas’,a typical party along Mallorca towns in order to remember their roots, there are celebrated year after year.

There is something for everyone, from the recreation of a historic battles to amazing concerts under the light of the moon. For these reasons, we will review the most important holidays and summer festivals around the island because they are an excellent decision to have a good time on this picturesque place.

The summer festivals begin with the San Juan's night, on June 23, a magical night when the beaches are crowded and plenty of bonfires. The goal is to have fun, although many majorcan people are still doing famous rituals like jumping over the fire or bathing at 12 pm. Another famous party that you cannot miss at all, is the ‘Artdemossa’, on July 22 in ‘Valldemossa’, a small town in the 'Serra de Tramuntana'. A very charming place that is filled with all kinds of arts, from painting and sculpture, through dance and of course, music to encourage the atmosphere. And if you go to the Serra de Tramuntana ya have another interesting party, the 23th take place “Eres Negre festival” in Banyalbufar, where you can taste the ‘tapas’ of a prestigious culinary competition and enjoy an evening full of music and good vibes.

For the bravest people stand out the recreation of a battle between Moors and Christians that took place on May 30, 1550. On August 2, in Pollença, there is the ‘Mare de Deu dels Angels’ festivity and it is commemorated with the Christian victory recreation over the Ottomans pirates. Warriors also have another important day on September 4 in Palma, when tale place a battle between the two sides who coexisted in the city a lot of years ago, ‘Canamunt I Canavall’. You should go with suit and water gun to wet the adversary.
